JUNE "prayer-starters" DAY 14

DAY 14—Loving God supremely may cause the world to despise us.

Even if the people of the world do not Love us, the Love that we have from the Lord more than makes up for it. When we put our Love for the Lord first, and others see this in us, in the end they will want what we have discovered.

John 15:18-21—If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would Love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the Word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for My Name’s sake, because they know not Him that sent Me. NIrV—"Does the world hate you? Remember that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world, it would Love you like one of its own. But you do not belong to the world. I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. "Remember the words I spoke to you. I said, ‘A servant is not more important than his master.’ (John 13:16) If people hated Me and tried to hurt Me, they will do the same to you. If they obeyed My teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you like that because of My Name. They do not know the One Who sent Me.

DEAR LORD, even if the people of the world show how they despise us, please use it to makes us stronger in our Love for You. Thank You for more than making up to us what the world takes from us. Please make those of us in our fellowship a Loving kind of people. Help us carry with us a spirit of Love that will bring healing and relief to those who are suffering—and to those who are disappointed with life.
